Heritage Restoration Works

When Experience Matters!

Urban Painting and Decorating have over 10 years experience working and restoring paint finishes in Federation and Heritage listed homes and buildings including churches, public buildings, offices and more.

  • Step 1: Consultation
We start the process with a consultation session where the goals and objectives are discussed.
  • Step 2: Analysis
The next step is analysis of the paint. We identify what colours were previously used either by analysing existing paint layers or by searching through the Heritage Councils records. The council have a list of what colours were used during different time periods and a set of guidelines that will need to be adhered to. NB: Colours and finishes are limited when it comes to listed offices, houses or other buildings although modern paint technology has improved dramatically.
  • Step 3: Proposal
After the research is complete we will put together a proposal of works that would be carried out by our master tradesman. Encompassing colours, finishers, preparation and repair techniques as well as a time frame and costs.

We have worked closely with clients and the Heritage Council on many occasions to successfully restore the finish of listed buildings to their original condition and standards.
